Crabble Mill Writing Project
|
|
|
Capel-le-Ferne Primary School has taken part in the Crabble Mill Writing Project. The author Stewart Ross gave all of the pupils who attended advice and tips about their own writing.
Stewart has produced three simple guides based on the workshop sessions at the Mill. Focusing on situation, characterisation and creativity, Stewart outlines some of the key strategies children can use to effectively plan their work and convey meaning to the reader.
The pupils from Class 5 used handheld computers called 'EDAs' (Educational Digital Assistants) to help them collect information during their trip to the mill. They were able to:
⢠Record video
⢠Take photographs
⢠Draw diagrams and pictures
⢠Record audio notes
⢠Write and receive emails online using SuperClubs
⢠Upload files to the SEGfL server
⢠Use Google Maps to view satellite images of the site.
